Effective immediately upon publication

01 About the company

These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by SEQUENCE PUBLISHING LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.

Company number: 13246956
Registered address: 2b Swanfield Street, London, England, E2 7DS
Website: sequencepublishing.services

In these terms, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean SEQUENCE PUBLISHING LTD. References to “you” and “your” mean the individual or organisation making an enquiry or placing an order with us.

02 Acceptance of these terms

These terms govern the use of our website and the purchase of our services. Customers should read them carefully before placing an order.

Where a customer places an order, the applicable service description, confirmed quotation, order details and these terms together form the basis of the agreement, subject to any specific written variation agreed by both parties.

If a specific written agreement for an individual project differs from these general terms, the specific agreement will take precedence for the relevant matter to the extent that the difference is expressly agreed.

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights that apply to a consumer under UK law.

03 Our services

SEQUENCE PUBLISHING LTD provides remote music assessment and production guidance services. The purpose of these services is to review customer-supplied music material and provide observations, feedback and practical recommendations.

Assessment areas

Depending on the selected service and agreed brief, an assessment may cover:

  • Track structure and musical progression.
  • Arrangement and development of musical sections.
  • Sound and instrument selection.
  • Relative balance between musical elements.
  • Clarity and consistency of the supplied material.
  • Production direction and suggested areas for improvement.
  • Priorities for the customer’s next stage of work.

Service deliverables

Depending on the purchased service, deliverables may include written assessment notes, recorded audio feedback and prioritised production recommendations. The exact deliverables will be identified in the relevant service description or order confirmation.

Activities not included

Unless separately agreed in a written contract, our services do not include:

  • Recording vocals, instruments or other audio material.
  • Audio editing or arrangement production.
  • Mixing or mastering.
  • Composing or producing new music.
  • Music distribution or submission to streaming platforms.
  • Copyright registration, legal advice or rights representation.
  • Artist management, record label representation or contract negotiation.

We provide assessment and guidance, not a guarantee that a customer’s music will achieve a particular creative, technical or commercial result.

04 Enquiries and quotations

Customers may submit an enquiry before purchasing a service. This allows us to understand the project and consider whether the requested assessment is suitable for our service scope.

An enquiry may include the type of music, number of tracks, approximate track duration, assessment objectives and relevant links or supporting information.

Following an initial review, we may provide a proposed service, fee and estimated delivery period.

Any quotation is based on the information supplied by the customer. If the requirements change or the information provided is materially incomplete, we may need to review the proposed scope and price before an order is placed.

Enquiries do not create an order Submitting an enquiry or receiving a quotation does not itself constitute a confirmed purchase or require the customer to make a payment.

05 Orders and contract formation

An order may be placed through the relevant service page or another ordering method expressly agreed with us.

Before completing an order, the customer should review the selected service, price, included deliverables and any project-specific requirements.

A contract is formed when the order has been accepted by us through the applicable order confirmation process. A payment confirmation or order acknowledgement may be provided through the website or by email.

We reserve the right to contact the customer to clarify an order where information is incomplete, inconsistent or materially different from the agreed quotation.

If we cannot accept an order, we will notify the customer and arrange the appropriate return of any payment received for a service that will not be supplied.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate contact and order information so that we can communicate about the service.

06 Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP), unless expressly stated otherwise.

Some services may display a starting price or indicative price range. The final fee depends on the agreed assessment scope, including the number of tracks, their duration and the level of review required.

Where an individual quotation is required, the applicable fee will be confirmed before the customer places the order. No additional work or charge will be applied without the customer’s prior agreement.

Payment arrangements

Payment is made through the payment options presented during the website checkout process. Orders are subject to the payment provider’s applicable processing terms.

We do not treat an enquiry or an unpaid draft order as confirmation that the service has been purchased.

VAT and displayed prices

Any VAT treatment applicable to a service will be reflected in the price information presented at the point of purchase. Where VAT is chargeable, the applicable amount will be shown in the checkout or relevant order information.

Customers should check the final order total before submitting payment.

07 Customer responsibilities

Customers must provide the information and music material reasonably required for the agreed assessment.

In particular, customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate project information and contact details.
  • Supply music files or links that can be accessed and reviewed.
  • Identify the correct versions of tracks for assessment.
  • Explain the relevant objectives and questions where appropriate.
  • Ensure they have the necessary rights or permissions to share the submitted material.
  • Respond to reasonable requests for clarification where the information is needed to complete the agreed work.

Customers should not submit material that they are not authorised to share or that infringes another person’s intellectual property rights or other legal rights.

If the customer provides inaccessible, incomplete or incorrect material, this may affect the assessment and the estimated delivery period. We will explain any material issue and request the information needed to proceed.

08 Service delivery

Services are delivered remotely. Depending on the selected service, the agreed deliverables may be supplied by email or through an electronic file-sharing method.

Unless a different arrangement is confirmed, the delivery period begins on the working day after:

  • The order has been confirmed and the required payment received.
  • The agreed music files or accessible links have been supplied.
  • The information required for the assessment has been provided.
  • Any essential scope questions have been resolved.

Working days mean Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in England and Wales.

The estimated delivery period will be confirmed for the relevant service or order. If a material delay arises, we will contact the customer and provide an updated estimate where reasonably possible.

Further details are available in our Service Delivery Policy.

09 Follow-up clarification

Certain services include one follow-up clarification after the original assessment has been delivered.

This clarification allows the customer to ask reasonable questions about the feedback and recommendations already provided.

It does not automatically include a second full assessment, review of substantially revised tracks, assessment of additional music or new production work.

The applicable clarification scope and any submission period will be stated in the service description or order confirmation.

Any request outside the included clarification scope may be treated as additional work and will be discussed with the customer before a separate fee is agreed.

10 Cancellation and refunds

Customers may have statutory cancellation rights when purchasing services under an eligible distance contract. For many consumer service contracts, the statutory cancellation period is 14 days from the day after the contract is entered into.

If a customer expressly requests that a service begins during this period, they may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work actually performed before cancellation, where permitted by law.

The statutory right to cancel may end following full performance of a service during the cancellation period only where the required prior express consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.

We do not treat all orders as automatically non-refundable once work has started. Cancellation and refund requests are assessed in accordance with the applicable statutory rights, the agreed service and the circumstances of the order.

Full details of the applicable arrangements are set out in our Cancellation & Refunds Policy.

11 Intellectual property

Customer music and submitted material

Customers retain their rights in the music, recordings, compositions, lyrics and other material they submit for assessment.

By submitting material, the customer permits us to access and use it only to the extent reasonably necessary to review the material and provide the agreed service. This does not transfer ownership of the customer’s work to us.

Assessment feedback and documents

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the written feedback, recorded commentary, assessment documents and other materials created by us remain our intellectual property.

Once the customer has paid the applicable fee, they may use the supplied feedback for their own personal or internal project-development purposes.

Customers must not reproduce, sell, publish, distribute, commercially exploit or present our assessment materials as their own work without our prior written permission, except where applicable law permits such use.

No transfer of music rights

Our assessment service does not assign, purchase or transfer copyright or other ownership rights in the customer’s music.

12 Customer materials and confidentiality

We recognise that music submitted for assessment may include unreleased or commercially sensitive material. We will use customer-supplied material for the purpose of providing the agreed service and for related communications and administration.

We will not knowingly publish or use a customer’s submitted music as promotional content without obtaining the appropriate permission.

Customers should use secure and accessible methods when sharing files and should avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information in project materials.

Information about how personal data is collected, used, stored and protected is provided in our Privacy Policy.

13 Website availability and information

We aim to keep the website information accurate and accessible. However, website content may occasionally require correction, updating or temporary maintenance.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted website availability or that every electronic communication or file transfer will be free from technical interruption.

If a website issue affects an existing order or prevents access to an agreed deliverable, customers should contact us so that an alternative arrangement can be considered.

Service descriptions should be read together with the final scope and price confirmed for an individual order. Where a general description differs from a specific written agreement, the agreed order details will apply to that project.

14 Liability

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill, as required by applicable law.

Our assessment and recommendations are based on the music material and information supplied by the customer. They are intended to assist the customer’s own evaluation and decision-making.

We do not guarantee a particular artistic, technical, audience, financial or commercial outcome from following our recommendations.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for outcomes arising from decisions made independently by the customer after receiving the assessment, including changes made to music by the customer or third parties.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be restricted.

Where the customer purchases services in the course of business, any liability limitations that may lawfully apply will be interpreted in accordance with the nature of the contract and applicable law.

15 Personal information

We collect and use personal information where reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries, administer orders, process payments, communicate with customers and deliver services.

Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and similar technologies used on the website is available in our Cookie Policy.

16 Complaints and service concerns

If a customer has a concern about the agreed service, delivery or communication, they should contact us with the relevant order details and a clear description of the issue.

We will review the matter against the confirmed scope and the information available. Where appropriate, we may ask for further details to understand the concern.

We aim to address complaints fairly and within a reasonable period. Any response will take account of the customer’s statutory rights and the circumstances of the order.

17 Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply to the customer.

Where the customer is a consumer, nothing in this section removes any right they may have under applicable law to bring proceedings in a competent court or rely on mandatory protections available in their country of residence.

18 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our services, business arrangements or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this website. The version applicable to an existing order will not be changed retrospectively in a way that materially reduces the customer’s agreed rights without an appropriate legal basis or the customer’s agreement.

Customers should review the published terms when placing a new order.
